That said, the collection isn’t perfect. *'La Ville Sous Verre'* drags with over-explained worldbuilding—useful for learners, perhaps, but it disrupts the tension. And while Volcy’s diction is impeccable, his female characters occasionally veer into caricature, their voices pitched just a shade too breathy. Still, the audiobook’s greatest strength is its *pacing*: stories run 20-30 minutes, long enough to lose yourself but short enough to replay for comprehension.
