As someone who enjoys a good ghost story, I was immediately drawn into Kenneth Oppel's Ghostlight. The narrative, coupled with James Cribbins' masterful narration, creates an immersive listening experience that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Cribbins' voice captures the youthful energy of the protagonist, while also effectively conveying the eerie atmosphere that Oppel so masterfully crafts. The combination of the story's suspenseful elements and the captivating narration make Ghostlight a must-listen for fans of the supernatural and coming-of-age tales alike. However, the pacing could have used some fine-tuning, as there are moments where it feels a bit rushed, which can break the immersion for listeners.
