Having spent countless hours engrossed in Guerre et Paix 4, I can confidently say that this audiobook is a true masterpiece. Éric Herson-Macarel's narration is nothing short of outstanding, his rich and expressive voice perfectly capturing the essence of each character and bringing the historical setting to life. Tolstoy's intricate portrayal of the battle of wits between Koutousov and the French forces is a testament to his unmatched storytelling abilities. However, at times, the pacing can feel slow, particularly during the more descriptive passages. This may be a minor critique for some, but it did cause me to pause and reflect on the deeper meanings behind the text.
