Happy Cat Box Set

I devoured this box set in three sittings because the narration (Jacob Morgan, Virginia Rose, Shane East, and Lili Valente herself) turns Valente’s sharp, playful prose into a living, breathing town. Morgan’s gruff yet lovable characters crackle with authenticity, while Rose’s upbeat energy makes the emotional moments land like a cozy hug. Shane East’s smooth delivery sells the bickering couples with just the right amount of exasperation, and Valente’s own narration shines in the bonus novella, where her mischievous tone sells the absurdity perfectly. That said, a handful of scenes felt a tad rushed—especially the meet-cutes, which occasionally blurred together in the fast-paced storytelling. And while the interconnectedness is a clever touch, some character threads (looking at you, town gossip) could’ve been woven tighter. Still, the production is top-tier, with seamless transitions between stories and a runtime that never drags. If you’re craving romance that’s equal parts swoon and laugh-out-loud, Happy Cat won’t disappoint.
