The audiobook’s strength lies in its narrators. Ketchum’s voice drips with disdain, but there’s a warmth beneath it that makes her character’s eventual surrender feel earned, not forced. Hamilton, on the other hand, leans into the hero’s villainous charm with such conviction that I found myself rooting for him—something I didn’t think was possible until I heard his smirk through the headphones. That said, the pacing stumbles in the middle. The first act is a masterclass in tension, but the second half drags slightly as the plot meanders through a few too many "will they/won’t they" loops.
