There’s no preachy cadence or rehearsed gravitas—just a young man (recording this as a teen, reflecting on his childhood) describing heaven with the same tone he might use to recount a trip to the zoo. When he talks about sitting on Jesus’ lap or seeing his miscarried sister he’d never met, his voice lifts with genuine awe, not performative emotion. That authenticity is the audiobook’s greatest strength. That said, the brevity is a double-edged sword. The pacing feels rushed in spots, as if key moments (like meeting his great-grandfather) are glossed over to fit the runtime. And while the soft instrumental background avoids being distracting, it occasionally swells at odd times, undercutting the natural rhythm of Colton’s speech. Still, for parents or educators looking for a gentle, non-denominational entry point to discussions about death or faith, this is a standout. It doesn’t answer questions—it invites them, in a way only a child’s perspective can.
