As someone who enjoys both romance and crime fiction, I was drawn to How Do You Survive with Us? by Ki Brightly right away. The narration by Mac Rae is top-notch, with a perfect balance of intensity and vulnerability that draws listeners in and keeps them hooked. The story itself is a thrilling roller coaster ride, with unexpected twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end. While I appreciated the suspenseful plot, I found the romantic elements to be the real standout of the audiobook. The development of Vail and Mac's relationship is both organic and passionate, and the chemistry between them is palpable. However, I did feel that the pacing could have been tighter in some parts, as there were moments where the story lagged slightly.
