Anna Black's I'm Doin' Me is a captivating tale of success, identity, and the blurred lines between reality and television fantasy. At its core, this novel is about Tiffany Richardson's meteoric rise as the executive producer and head writer of the hit series Boy Crazy, but as she navigates her newfound fame and fortune, Black masterfully weaves in themes of self-discovery, love, and the true cost of ambition. Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

As I listened to I'm Doin' Me, I found myself completely absorbed in Tiffany's world, thanks in large part to Lynnette R. Freeman's outstanding narration. Freeman's ability to convey the humor and vulnerability of the characters is impressive, and her pacing is spot-on, keeping the story moving at a breakneck speed that's hard to resist. One of the things that I appreciated most about this novel is its nuanced exploration of the tension between creative expression and commercial success. Black raises important questions about the true cost of success, and the ways in which our desires and ambitions can sometimes lead us down a path of self-destruction. If I have one critique, it's that the supporting cast can sometimes feel a bit one-dimensional, particularly in the second half of the book. However, this is a minor quibble in an otherwise engaging and thought-provoking listen. Overall, I'm Doin' Me is a delightful and relatable romance that will appeal to fans of literature and television alike.
