Marco Baliani's narration is the heart of this audiobook. His deep, resonant voice lulls you into the world of the Finzi-Continis, where time seems to stand still. Baliani masterfully captures the subtle shifts in Giorgio's perspective, from the carefree joy of youth to the sobering realization of the world outside. The story itself is a slow burn, with a pacing that might feel languid to some, but I found it perfectly suited to the novel's contemplative tone. The production is minimalistic, with no music or sound effects, allowing Baliani's narration to take center stage. My only critique is that the lack of chapter breaks can make it feel like a long, unbroken monologue at times. However, this is a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding audiobook.
