In the Gloaming: Arctic Horror

I was drawn into 'In the Gloaming' from the very first chapter, and I can honestly say I've never felt so cold while listening to an audiobook. Dahman's prose is like ice on your skin, sharp and piercing, while NeSmith's narration is as warm as a hearth in a blizzard. He brings a raw, visceral energy to the story, making each character's struggle feel painfully real. The pacing is slow but deliberate, building tension like a snowdrift until it finally avalanches in a climax that's as satisfying as it is chilling. My only critique is that some of the historical details can feel a bit heavy at times, but they're easily forgiven in the face of such a compelling narrative. If you're a fan of atmospheric horror and sea adventures, this audiobook is a must-listen. Just make sure you've got a cozy blanket nearby.
