As a parent who's struggled to keep my kids engaged with history, I found 'Indians, Cowboys, and Farmers' to be a breath of fresh air. Manchester's narration is spot-on, capturing the spirit of the Old West without feeling like a caricature. He paces the story well, keeping my kids on the edge of their seats. The only critique I have is that some of the Native American perspectives could have been explored a bit more deeply, but overall, this audiobook is a fantastic way to introduce kids to the complexities of the Great Plains' history. The production is clean, with no distracting background noise, allowing the story to take center stage.
