Irish Gothic

I approached 'Irish Gothic' with a healthy dose of skepticism - could a collection of short stories really live up to its promise of 'Celtic gothic terror'? The answer, I'm delighted to say, is a resounding yes. Kelly's stories are expertly crafted, each one a slow burn that builds to a satisfyingly chilling climax. Turner's narration is a standout feature, his ability to switch between dialects and accents adding an extra layer of authenticity to the tales. If I have one critique, it's that some of the stories blur together in the memory - each is a gem, but they could benefit from a little more distinction in pacing or structure. Overall, though, 'Irish Gothic' is a fantastic listen, perfect for late-night scares and cold winter evenings.
