I had high hopes for *Karen’s Witch*, and Stephanie Drake’s narration absolutely delivers. She gives Karen a delightful, sing-songy voice that feels authentically childlike, full of excitement and occasional frustration when her parents don’t take her theories seriously. Drake’s performance isn’t over-the-top dramatic—it’s measured and grounded, which makes Karen’s imaginative leaps feel even more genuine. My only critique is that the story wraps up a little too quickly; I would’ve loved a few more details about Mrs. Porter’s backstory to deepen the mystery. The production is crisp, with no distracting background noise, and the pacing is spot-on for young listeners. If your child loves stories about friendship, misunderstandings, and the thrill of solving a harmless puzzle, this audiobook is a winner. It’s short enough to hold attention spans but rich enough to spark big conversations about how we judge people based on appearances.
