Los pilares de la Tierra [The Pillars of the Earth]

As an audiobook editor, I was initially blown away by the sheer scope and ambition of Los pilares de la Tierra. Follett's writing is a delight to listen to, with vivid descriptions of medieval life and politics that transport you to another world. Jordi Boixaderas's narration is equally impressive, with a warm, authoritative voice that brings the characters to life. I particularly enjoyed his handling of the supporting cast, imbuing each with their own distinct personality and voice. However, I did find the pacing to be occasionally uneven, with some sections feeling a tad slow. Additionally, some of the more technical aspects of the story – such as the intricate details of cathedral building – felt a tad overwhelming at times. Nevertheless, these minor quibbles are vastly outweighed by the audiobook's many strengths, making Los pilares de la Tierra a must-listen for fans of historical fiction and epic storytelling.
