The audiobook’s strength lies in its specifics: the backroom deals of the 1980s Maruti Suzuki joint venture, how Infosys exploited a loophole to list on NASDAQ, or why India’s pharmaceutical sector thrived while textiles stagnated. Yet, the structure feels lopsided. Kant rushes through the post-2014 digital revolution (a missed opportunity to explore UPI’s global implications) but lingers on pre-liberalization trivia that might lose casual listeners. And while Kochhar handles Hindi phrases smoothly, his pacing occasionally clashes with Kant’s abrupt shifts between data dumps and anecdotes. **Bottom line:** If you’re a policy nerd or an entrepreneur navigating India’s labyrinthine economy, this is gold. If you want inspiration or a linear success story, look elsewhere.
