I had the pleasure of listening to the French version of Stefan Zweig's Magellan, expertly narrated by Marc Hamon. From the first moment, I was captivated by Hamon's rich, textured voice that effortlessly transports the listener to the world of 16th-century exploration. Although I have read the book before, listening to the audiobook brought new depth to the story, particularly in understanding the nuances of the French language and culture. However, I found the pacing to be slightly slower than I would have liked, which, at times, hindered the overall excitement and momentum of the narrative. Despite this minor critique, I highly recommend Magellan for those seeking an immersive, action-packed adventure with a touch of historical insight.
