I approached *Mai dire ma* expecting another corporate bromance about “empowering teams,” so Fabrizio Rocchi’s gravel-voiced narration of Willink’s no-nonsense philosophy came as a shock. Rocchi doesn’t soften the blows—his delivery mirrors the blunt, rhythmic cadence of a platoon leader barking orders, right down to the pauses that feel like psychological pressure. The audiobook’s standout moment is when Willink recounts a mission gone wrong in Iraq, then dissects his own hesitation (and the team’s paralysis) with surgical detail. His admission that “doubt is the enemy” isn’t just a platitude; it’s a gut-punch that lingers. Production-wise, the audio is crisp, with no distracting reverb—you’ll hear every page-turn and vocal tic, which works in Willink’s favor. That said, the Italian title (*Never Say No*) feels like a missed opportunity for the English market, and the book occasionally leans too hard into military metaphors for non-tactical listeners. But these are minor quibbles for what’s ultimately a masterclass in ownership. If you finish this audiobook and haven’t felt like a better leader (or at least a more disciplined person), you weren’t listening closely enough.
