The way she modulates Dylan’s dialogue, slipping between syrupy Southern politeness and razor-edged threats, makes the audiobook feel like a live performance. Ervin’s plot, however, isn’t all smooth sailing. The middle act drags with a few too many name-dropped shopping sprees and lavish parties that blur together, making the stakes feel less urgent than they should. That said, the payoff is worth it: the final act’s betrayals and bloodshed hit like a Lamborghini crash, all polished chrome and shattered glass. Production-wise, the sound design is unobtrusive but effective—background Atlanta traffic and distant club bass add texture without overwhelming Belle’s performance. My biggest critique? Dylan’s redemption arc feels rushed, almost like the author ran out of runway. Still, for anyone craving a juicy, no-holds-barred dive into Atlanta’s elite underworld, this audiobook delivers—just don’t expect subtlety.
