I’ll admit, I rolled my eyes when I saw another Mediterranean diet book—aren’t we all sick of the same old ‘eat like a Greek grandma’ clichés? But James H. Kiser’s narration changed my mind. His voice is smooth, like a trustworthy uncle explaining why you should swap butter for olive oil, and he never talks down to you. The pacing was perfect—no dragging, no rushed fluff—just tight, useful advice. A few times, I had to pause to jot down a recipe idea, which is rare for me with diet books. That said, the audiobook isn’t flawless. The recipes themselves are solid, but a few require ingredients that might be hard to find outside specialty stores (hello, fresh oregano at 9 p.m.). Also, while Kiser’s narration is great, he occasionally misreads a word—nothing major, but enough to break the flow if you’re really listening. Still, these are minor quibbles. By the end, I felt like I’d actually learned something useful, not just another set of vague ‘eat more veggies’ advice. If you’re serious about changing your eating habits without the guilt, this is the audiobook to grab.
