I was immediately drawn into the world of Miranda, a small town where everyone knows everyone else's business. Anne Hancock's narration is a joy, her ability to distinguish between characters with subtle inflections and pacing making each story feel distinct. The trilogy's pacing is excellent, with each novel building on the last, creating a rich, immersive experience. I particularly loved 'The Shadow of the Pine' for its exploration of faith and redemption. However, I must admit, the reliance on gossip as a plot device can feel a tad excessive at times. Nevertheless, the Miranda Trilogy is a wonderful listen, offering a unique blend of historical fiction, romance, and small-town drama that will keep you engaged from start to finish.
