Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

I was thoroughly engrossed in this audiobook, with Hootkins' narration bringing a sense of urgency to Ahab's relentless pursuit. The pacing is well-balanced, allowing the listener to absorb the philosophical and poetic interludes that punctuate the action. One minor quibble is that some of the supporting characters feel slightly underdeveloped, but this is a minor complaint in an otherwise exceptional production. My other criticism is that the sound design, while generally excellent, occasionally struggles to convey the chaos of the whaleship's encounters with the white whale. Nonetheless, this is a magnificent audiobook that will appeal to fans of literary fiction and classic adventure stories alike.
