Luci Christian Bell’s protagonist, Wren, gets her own charm upgrade, making her relatability and flaws feel deliberate, not just convenient. That said, the story stumbles in a few spots. The third act’s conflicts feel rushed, like Rayne had to wrap up the romance in time for the season’s finale, and some side characters fade into the background. The production itself is flawless—no muffled lines or awkward pauses—but the pacing drags slightly in the middle when the banter outweighs the buildup.
