As an audiobook editor, I was immediately drawn into Nate Donovan's world. Marc Cashman's narration is nothing short of excellent, capturing the essence of young Nate's spirit and the tension of the historical backdrop with equal finesse. The pacing is spot on, keeping the listener engaged throughout the 7-hour runtime. The story is a wonderful blend of historical fiction and coming-of-age narrative, with Nate's growth and the unfolding events of the war providing a rich tapestry of themes. My only critique is that some of the supporting characters could have been more fully developed, but this is a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding audiobook. Highly recommended for families looking for an engaging and educational listen.
