New Jersey Noir

Listening to New Jersey Noir is like taking a late-night drive through the state's most dangerous neighborhoods. The narration is top-notch, with each narrator capturing the essence of their story's characters and setting. Kevin T. Collins' gruff, no-nonsense delivery is perfect for the hard-boiled detectives and criminals that populate many of these tales. Meanwhile, Jennifer Van Dyck's soft, almost ethereal voice lends an eerie vulnerability to her stories. The pacing is excellent, with each story leaving you wanting more, only to be drawn into the next one. My only critique is that some of the stories feel a bit too similar in their bleakness, but that's a small price to pay for such a powerful collection. Overall, this is a standout audiobook that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
