As an editor, I was initially drawn to Night Terrors for its bold, unapologetic approach to horror. And while I wasn't disappointed, I did find myself occasionally wishing for a more nuanced exploration of the supernatural entities that populate these tales. At times, the villains feel more like caricatures than fully fleshed-out characters, leaving some stories feeling a touch one-dimensional. That being said, the pacing is expertly handled, with each story flowing seamlessly into the next to create a cohesive, unsettling whole. But it's the narrators who truly make Night Terrors Vol. 1 shine. Johnny Raven and Stephanie Shade bring a level of depth and emotion to their performances that elevates the entire experience.
