But once the hostages are taken, the book *explodes*. The chapter detailing the actual raid is a masterclass in tension, Lynch’s voice dropping to a guttural growl as he describes gunfire crackling through the jungle. That said, the epilogue drags a bit, feeling tacked on with survivor interviews that disrupt the momentum. Still, the raw courage on display here is undeniable. If you loved *Black Hawk Down* or *Lone Survivor*, this is your next must-listen—just skip the slow burn at the start.
