And while Casemiro’s Portuguese is impeccable, his Argentine Spanish accents (used sparingly for quotes) occasionally veer into caricature—though given the book’s tone, that might be intentional. What saves it is the final third, where Palacios ties everything together with a brutal, hilarious takedown of Argentine exceptionalism.
