Pack Education, Part One

I went into *Pack Education* expecting a fluffy paranormal rom-com with half-naked shirtless males and minimal plot, and what I got was a deliciously messy exploration of toxic, healing, and downright addictive relationships—with werewolves as the cherry on top. Ariel Kay’s narration is the real MVP here; her ability to shift from breathless vulnerability to outright defiance in a single breath had me gripping my phone like it owed me money. Brian Kozak’s portrayal of Daxton is so infuriatingly hot it should come with a warning label, especially when he’s growling things like *‘Mine’* like he’s ordering a coffee instead of marking his step-sister as off-limits (again). The chemistry between them is so thick you’ll need a chainsaw to cut through it, and by the time you hear Kay’s voice crack under the weight of repressed desire, you’ll question your own morals. That said, the pacing occasionally stumbles under the weight of its own steam. Some scenes drag longer than a werewolf in daylight, and the second-act conflict feels like it’s been shoehorned in just to keep the word count up. The production is slick, but the ambient sounds—like distant howls or rustling trees—sometimes feel more like a white noise machine for anxiety than atmospheric enhancement. Still, if you’re here for the slow burn, the emotional wreckage, and the sheer audacity of step-sibling tension, this audiobook will ruin you in the best way. Just don’t listen in public unless you’re prepared for judgmental side-eye from strangers who’ve never experienced the intoxicating pull of a pack mentality.
