As someone who's often skeptical of short audiobooks, I was pleasantly surprised by 'Pick a Card'. J. Daniel Sawyer's narration is warm and inviting, drawing you into the story like an old friend sharing a secret. The pacing is perfect, allowing the story's magic to unfold naturally without feeling rushed. Sawyer's writing is lyrical and evocative, painting vivid images with just a few words. The only critique I have is that I wanted more - the story ends just as it's getting started, leaving you hungry for more of the magician's illusions and Peter's journey. But perhaps that's the point - sometimes, a story's brevity is its greatest strength, leaving you craving more like a tantalizing appetizer. Overall, 'Pick a Card' is a delightful, heartwarming listen that's perfect for a quick escape.
