Dawson’s pacing is relentless, and the audiobook’s tight runtime means no scene overstays its welcome. I especially appreciated how the action sequences are rendered—crisp, spatially clear, and horrifyingly intimate. That said, the supporting cast sometimes feels underdeveloped, as if Beatrix’s singular mission eclipses everyone else’s humanity. And while I admired the minimalism, a few more quiet moments between fights might have deepened the emotional payoff. Still, as an audio experience, this thrives on momentum and mood.
