Possession

I was hooked from the first chapter. Asher's writing is intense, her characters complex and flawed, making them all the more relatable. The narration by Jason Clarke and Rose Dioro is outstanding. Clarke's deep, resonant voice lends a gravitas to the cartel boss, while Dioro's warm, emotive tones bring a vulnerability to her character that's utterly compelling. The pacing is excellent, balancing high-stakes action with intimate, emotional moments. My only critique is that the supporting characters could have been more fully developed, but that's a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding audiobook.
