I’ll admit, I approached *Rache & Feuer* expecting another derivative fantasy romance with a brooding love interest and a sprinkle of magic. What I got instead was a story that dared to be messy, dangerous, and deliciously unpredictable. Celesta isn’t a heroine to root for—she’s a villainess who stumbles into humanity, and that’s what makes her fascinating. Anne Düe’s narration is the secret weapon here; her delivery of Celesta’s biting one-liners and the rare moments of raw emotion made me feel like I was listening to a live performance. The pacing is relentless, though at times the political maneuvering dragged just enough to make me wish the romance had caught fire sooner. The production is top-tier—crisp audio quality, atmospheric enhancements that never overshadow the story, and a soundtrack that pulses like a heartbeat during the most intense scenes. That said, the side characters sometimes blur together, and the worldbuilding, while rich, could’ve used a few more grounding details to keep newcomers from feeling lost. But these are minor quibbles in an otherwise electrifying listen. By the last chapter, I was emotionally spent and already craving the next book. If your idea of fantasy romance involves high stakes, morally gray characters, and a love story that feels like a duel, this audiobook will leave you spellbound.
