About This Audiobook

Reese Knightley’s *Rampage* isn’t just another brooding badass romance—it’s a testosterone-soaked redemption arc wrapped in a high-stakes thriller. Three former military operatives, each nursing their own kind of moral baggage, stumble into an unlikely partnership when a sex trafficking ring targets someone they can’t ignore. Knightley crafts dialogue that crackles with the raw, unfiltered chemistry of people who’d rather shoot first and ask questions never. The pacing is relentless, but never to the point of exhaustion; these characters earn their emotional payoff in the quiet moments between firefights and betrayals. Tristan James’ narration is the secret weapon here—his voice is a low, rumbling growl when the testosterone’s high, but it softens just enough to let the vulnerability peek through. The result? A story that feels visceral and intimate, even when it’s exploding in your ears.

If you crave action that punches above its weight and romance that simmers in the shadows, this audiobook delivers. The worldbuilding is lean but effective, trusting the reader to keep up with the trio’s history rather than slowing down to explain it. And when the plot twists hit? They land like a sucker punch, recontextualizing everything you thought you knew. It’s a rare thing to find a story this fiery that also remembers to leave room for the heart—Knightley strikes that balance with a deft hand.

Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

I started *Rampage* while running errands, fully expecting a noisy distraction. What I got was a full-body experience. Tristan James’ narration is the kind of performance that makes you pull over to the side of the road just to finish a chapter. His gravelly voice wraps around the protagonists’ cynicism like a well-worn leather jacket, but when the rare tender moment creeps in, he dials it back just enough to make it sting. The production quality is impeccable—no tinny dialogue or muffled gunfire here. Plotwise, *Rampage* doesn’t waste time. The trio’s shared history (hinted at more than explained) adds depth without slowing the momentum, and the villain—oh, the villain—is deliciously twisted, the kind of antagonist who makes you question your own morality. My only critiques? The second-act romance sometimes stumbles into cliché territory, and the epilogue felt rushed, as if the author was more eager to tie up loose ends than linger in the aftermath. But these are minor quibbles in a story that otherwise had me hooked from the first trigger pull. If your ideal weekend includes a road trip with a killer soundtrack and a plot that refuses to let go, this one’s a home run.
