Michelle Sparks nails the protagonist’s transformation from doormat to wildfire; her voice drops an octave the second the protagonist’s spine snaps back into place, and the effect is chilling. Noel Harrison, meanwhile, turns the love-interest into a walking audio hallucination—smooth, hypnotic, and just sinister enough to keep your nerves buzzing. My biggest gripe? The middle act drags like a stalled truck on a mountain road, and a few side characters evaporate without enough voice texture to leave fingerprints. Still, the payoff—when the protagonist finally drags the father who broke her to justice—is worth the crawl.
