Ray Porter delivers an electrifying performance that perfectly complements Brian Andrews’ gripping script. His portrayal of John Dempsey is both fierce and vulnerable, grounding the listener in the protagonist's emotional turmoil. The pacing is tight, ensuring there’s no lull as the story unfolds its intricate web of betrayal and survival. However, some scenes feel a bit too on-the-nose with their moral dilemmas, which could have benefited from subtler nuance. Nonetheless, Red Specter remains an unputdownable audiobook that will leave you breathless until the very end.
