I was enchanted by Sophie Kinsella's Remember Me? from the opening pages, and Charlotte Parry's captivating narration was a big part of that magic. As I settled into Lexi's story, I found myself invested in her struggles and rooting for her triumphs. Parry's tone is just right, balancing humor and pathos with ease, making it easy to become fully immersed in the world of the novel. One of the things that sets Remember Me? apart from other romances is its focus on the everyday, the mundane moments that make up most of our lives. Lexi's inner monologue is full of relatable observations and witty one-liners, making it feel like you're eavesdropping on a friend's conversations. At the same time, the novel tackles tougher themes like identity, family dynamics, and the challenges of growing up. It's a deft balancing act, and one that Parry navigates with ease. If I have any quibbles, it's that the supporting cast sometimes feels a bit one-dimensional. A few characters' motivations or backstories feel glossed over, which can make them feel a bit like cardboard cutouts. Still, Lexi herself is so well-realized that it's easy to overlook these minor flaws. Overall, I'd highly recommend Remember Me? to anyone looking for a lighthearted, engaging romance with a strong, likable heroine.
