I devoured 'Royal Jelly' in a single, mesmerizing sitting. Adrian Scarborough's narration is pitch-perfect, conveying the creeping sense of unease that permeates Dahl's story. The pacing is expertly handled, with Scarborough ratcheting up the tension to a chilling conclusion. My only quibble is that the production could benefit from a slightly more nuanced sound design – at times, the audio feels a touch too straightforward. Still, this is a minor complaint in an otherwise superb production. If you're a fan of Dahl's darker tales, or just looking for a thought-provoking short story, 'Royal Jelly' is an excellent choice.
