As a hockey fan, I was immediately drawn to Ryker's story, but Proby's writing ensures that even non-sports fans will find themselves invested. Crais's narration of Ryker is spot-on, capturing the character's gruff exterior and tender heart. Peachwood's portrayal of Emma is equally compelling, her voice bringing a warmth and vulnerability that had me rooting for her from the start. The pacing is steady, allowing the characters' relationship to develop naturally, and the production is clean and engaging. However, I found the pacing to lag slightly in the middle, and some secondary characters could have used more depth. Overall, 'Safe Haven' is a heartfelt listen that left me eager for more from Proby and her narrators.
