As a listener, I was immediately drawn into Mati's world, her grief palpable, her struggle to move on relatable. Dunbar's exploration of grief and healing is profound, and her characters are so well-drawn, they feel like old friends. Maddux and Tucker's narration is a standout feature of this audiobook. Their voices complement each other beautifully, and their ability to convey emotion is exceptional. If I have one critique, it's that the pacing can feel a bit slow at times, but it's a small price to pay for the depth of emotion Dunbar delivers.
