Servants

Listening to 'Servants' was like being transported back in time, eavesdropping on the lives of those often overlooked in history. Stern's narration is exceptional, her ability to switch between characters and accents seamless. She brings a warmth and empathy to the servants, while a cool detachment to the aristocrats, perfectly capturing the class divide. The pacing is excellent, with Lethbridge's storytelling moving at a brisk pace, never bogged down in unnecessary detail. However, I did find some of the historical context a bit rushed in places, which sometimes left me wanting more depth. But this is a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding audiobook that offers a fascinating and often surprising look into the lives of those who served the British elite.
