I devoured 'Settle for Nothing' in a single listen, drawn in by Silas's irreverent voice and the richly detailed world Hawke has created. Bacca's narration is a highlight, bringing a sense of intimacy and immediacy to the story. One of the things that struck me was the way Hawke balances the paranormal elements with a grounded, realistic portrayal of Silas's life as an outcast. My only quibble is that some of the supporting characters feel a bit one-dimensional, and I would have loved a bit more backstory on Silas's past. Still, these are minor complaints in an otherwise engaging and well-crafted audiobook.
