I approached *Spanish for Business* with skepticism—how much Spanish can you realistically learn in 104 minutes? Turns out, Retter delivers exactly what she promises: tools, not theory. Auther’s narration is annoyingly listenable; I caught myself mentally rehearsing her phrases during an actual client call, which either proves the method works or I’m dangerously suggestible. My biggest critique? The dialogues sound more like radio ads than real negotiations—‘Señoras y señores, nuestro margen de beneficio es del 12%’ is great if you sell widgets, less so if you’re discussing supply chain disruptions. Also, the lack of on-screen references (even a PDF cheat sheet) forces you to replay sections, which gets old on the treadmill. That said, by the end of track two, I finally stopped blanking on ‘¿Cuál es el importe total?’ when a vendor quoted me a price.
