That said, her American accent might throw off learners who need British English, and a few chapters lean too heavily on niche idioms (who actually says “that’s the bee’s knees” in 2024?). Still, the trade-off is worth it: the audiobook’s humor and relatability make it a joy to revisit sections, unlike so many language guides that feel like punishment to listen to. My only real critique? The PDF companion guide is sparse—I’d love more visual aids to go with the audio. But as a standalone listen, this is one of the most engaging and effective English-learning tools I’ve tested, hands down.
