Editor's Review ★★★★

AudioBook Atlas

I went into 'Sunset Bluff' with a healthy dose of skepticism – after all, how many novels can you spin around the lives of two ghostwriters? But Shames' writing is disarmingly clever, and Marvel's narration is the perfect match for this offbeat tale. From the opening pages, I found myself swept up in the characters' quirky camaraderie and mutual struggles to find their place in the world. What really stood out for me was the way Shames explored the complexities of creative identity – the ebb and flow of inspiration, the search for authenticity, and the fear of losing one's unique voice. Marvel's delivery brought a level of authenticity to these themes that made the story feel all the more real. If I have any criticisms, it's that the supporting cast could have been fleshed out a bit more, and a few plot threads felt slightly resolved a tad too neatly. However, these are minor quibbles in what's ultimately a delightful and thought-provoking listen.
