Instead, I got Georgia Cummings—a protagonist so refreshingly flawed I wanted to hug her (and occasionally shake her). Her dating disasters are so specific they feel ripped from my own Tinder search history: the guy who ghosted after she admitted she liked hiking, the one who matched her solely to ask if she’d seen his ex. It’s darkly relatable, and Monroe’s writing makes even the most cringe-worthy moments land with a laugh. The narration elevates this book from ‘solid’ to ‘must-listen.’ CJ Bloom’s Georgia is a revelation—equal parts hilarious and heartbreaking, with a delivery that makes you feel like you’re eavesdropping on a conversation with your funniest friend. Her timing is impeccable, especially during Georgia’s deadpan inner thoughts. Eric Michael Summerer’s billionaire, meanwhile, is the audiobook equivalent of a guy who’s annoyingly good at everything—his voice oozes arrogance but somehow stays endearing. My only critique? The production hiccup at the 6-hour mark, where a sudden volume dip made me double-check my headphones. Also, the billionaire’s redemption arc relies a bit too heavily on ‘love conquers all’ rather than actual growth, but if you’re here for the ride, not the destination, it’s easy to forgive. By the final chapter, you’ll be begging for a sequel—just with less WiFi dependency and more slow dances.
