The Academy

I was hooked from the start with 'The Academy'. Kris is a protagonist you can't help but root for, and her journey from straight-A student to secret-keeper-in-peril is a thrilling ride. Mackenzie Cartwright's narration is spot-on, capturing Kris's voice with a perfect blend of innocence and determination. She also shines in voicing the academy's diverse cast of characters, from the cunning Headmaster to the swoon-worthy love interest, making the story's political intrigue and romantic tension all the more engaging. The pacing is excellent, keeping the listener on the edge of their seat with a good mix of action, dialogue, and internal monologue. My only critique is that some of the fantasy world-building could have been a bit more fleshed out, but overall, 'The Academy' is a captivating listen that left me eager for the next installment.
