I approached 'The Apocalypse Boxed Set' with a healthy dose of skepticism, having overdosed on zombie stories in recent years. But Meredith's take on the undead is refreshingly original, and his characters are so well-drawn that I found myself genuinely invested in their fates. Sands' narration is a perfect match for the material, his voice capturing the bleak, desolate atmosphere of a world on the brink. The pacing is breakneck, with Meredith expertly balancing high-stakes action with quieter moments of introspection. My only critiques are minor - at times, the scientific explanations for the undead's origins feel a tad too convenient, and the story's reliance on a few too many coincidences can strain credibility. But these are minor quibbles in an otherwise gripping, harrowing listen.
