Summer and Mark turn the text into a duet, trading verses so naturally it sounds like a family story time rather than a polished recording. The pacing is brisk without rushing, and the sound design (think toy crashes and fridge hums) adds texture without distraction. My only quibble is the abrupt fade-out ending; after building to Bert’s triumphant “best worst day ever,” a cleaner conclusion would have capped the story more satisfyingly. Another nitpick: the digital effects sometimes feel a tad too loud against the narrators’ voices, making the smoothie splash slightly jarring. Still, the charm outweighs the rough patches. Kids will ask for it on repeat, and parents will appreciate the no-pressure message that it’s okay to stumble—because the day’s still full of surprises.
