Editor's Review ★★★★

AudioBook Atlas

As a listener, I was immediately drawn into Joe's world, thanks to Scott Brick's exceptional narration. He effortlessly switches between characters, each with their unique voice and quirks, making every conversation engaging and authentic. The story is a delightful mix of humor, pathos, and nostalgia, reminiscent of a John Irving or Richard Russo novel. The pacing is spot on, allowing the story to unfold naturally, with just the right balance of tension and levity. My only critique is that some of the more dramatic moments could have used a bit more nuance in the narration to really pack an emotional punch. But overall, 'The Book of Joe' is a thoroughly enjoyable listen that left me with a warm, fuzzy feeling and a newfound appreciation for the quirks of small-town life.
