As an audiobook editor, I was blown away by Alison Larkin's performance in The Curious Case of the Clockwork Menace. She brings a perfect balance of wit, charm, and gravitas to the story, making it impossible not to become invested in Perry and Garrett's adventures. The pacing is expertly handled, with Larkin's narration driving the plot forward at a breakneck speed. However, I wish the supporting cast had been fleshed out a bit more - some of the secondary characters feel a bit one-dimensional, which can make it difficult to become fully attached to them. That being said, the main plot is expertly woven together, with McMaster's world-building and Larkin's narration creating a rich, immersive atmosphere that's impossible to resist. The romance is sweet and tender, and the steampunk elements are cleverly integrated into the story. Overall, I highly recommend The Curious Case of the Clockwork Menace to fans of fantasy, romance, and historical fiction. Just be prepared to be hooked from start to finish!
